FSRI to Host Two Block Parties to Support South Providence Arts & Culture

Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) will be holding two Block Parties in July in support of local artists and the communities of South Providence. The block parties will be on Tuesday, July 11th and Tuesday, July 25th at Harriet & Sayles Park next to Mary E. Fogarty Elementary School. Each event will run from 5 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.

“These parties are a fantastic opportunity to show support to the local communities,” said FSRI CEO Margaret Holland McDuff. “Besides featured performances from local artists, we will also have many activities from organizations throughout Providence. We’re very excited.”

The Parties will feature music and art from performers and artists in the South Providence community. Performing Artists include Mr. Deep Positivity, Quisquella en Accion, Project 401, Hispanic United Development Organization, La Iglesia de la Comunidad Instrumental Performance and DJ Waldy.

The July 11th Block Party will feature activities such as a pygmy goat petting zoo, a Providence Children’s Museum Activity, and local Water park open late. On July 25th activities include a basketball tournament and a graffiti art exhibit. The July 25th Party will also have Community Engagement tables such as Farm Fresh RI and RI Public Health Institute. PeaceLove will be at both events.

In addition to activities and performances for families, food will also be served. All attendees will also be given the opportunity to win raffle prizes.
