For the second time in a row, the Ocean Road 10K, presented by Polar Seltzer, has sold out well ahead for the event. 1,750 registrants will run the 6.2-mile course from Point Judith Light to Narragansett Town Beach on October 1st. The event is produced by Gray Matter Marketing, based in Portsmouth, RI. A portion of each registration was donated to the Narragansett Historical Society, which will receive an $8,500 donation from the event.
Polar Seltzer, KIND Snacks and Cabot Cheese will be providing snacks and beverages to the runners and walkers at the event. In addition, the Cabot Fit Team will be competing in the race. The Cabot Fit Team is a group of bloggers, social media influencers, Cabot Farmers and Cabot Fit Team staff members to increase awareness about the importance of wellness through nutrition and exercise. Six Cabot Fit Team Members will run the Ocean Road 10K this year; Christy Brissette, a blogger from La Quinta, California, Amee Livingston, a blogger from McDonough, Georgia, Aggie Goodman, a blogger from Lake Mary, Florida, Nellie Acevedo, a blogger from Brooklyn, New York, Angela Bekkala, a blogger from Dover, New Hampshire, and Heather Montgomery, a blogger from Tampa, Florida.
Denali Sports, in Wakefield, RI is also a sponsor of the event and will be hosting bib-pick up for athletes on Saturday, September 30th. GameFace Media will provide runners with free race photos, and Anchor Leg Coaching and Newport BoxFit have provided training services for local athletes leading up to the race.
Shuttles will bring runners from the finish/parking area at Town Beach to Point Judith Lighthouse, starting at 6:30AM. The race will begin at 8 AM. No roads will be closed on race day. Traffic traveling north on Ocean Road during the race will be delayed throughout. As an alternative, Rt. 1 will be open as usual for travel North from Point Judith on race morning.
