The inaugural Rhode Island Blues Festival arrived this past weekend with several stand-out performances. The music ended prematurely due to torrential rain on Saturday but was back in force Sunday with a full line up of local and national blues musicians. Two artists originally scheduled for Saturday, Jack Broadbent and Marcia Ball, even agreed to stay an extra day and play Sunday. Other standout performances included Selwyn Birchwood, the Heather Gillis Band and Rhode Island’s Extraordinary Rendition Band.
The Festival was held on the grounds of Mulligan’s Island, a popular golf and entertainment center in Cranston. Check out some photos of festival below. (All Photos: Ken Abrams)
