The Founders ripped it up before a packed house at The Met last night. The band featured five original Roomful of Blues members Duke Robillard (guitar, vocals), Al Copley (keyboards), Rich Lataille (tenor/alto saxophone), Doug James (baritone saxophone), Greg Piccolo (vocals/tenor saxophone), along with Mark Teixiera (drums) and Brad Hallen (bass).

Roomful of Blues dates back over fifty years, and has garnered numerous accolades over the years including five Grammy Award nominations and seven Blues Music Awards. The Rhode Island based band has long been considered one of the best at their craft.

Playing a reunion that brought old friends back together after many years, they performed a pair of sets that can only be described as tight and spot-on. A bevy of lifetime followers kept the dancefloor chock-full the entire night.

WhatsUpRhodeIsland’s Rick Farrell was there to cover the momentous occasion.
