Concert Recap: The Tubes at the Greenwich Odeum

The Tubes played to a sellout audience at The Greenwich Odeum on Friday. The San Francisco based proto-punk rock band delivered their trademark “over the top” spectacle, as a spirited crowd danced in the aisles.

Led by energetic front man Fee Waybill, the band still retains four original members. Its current lineup consists of the enormously talented group of Roger Steen on guitar, Rick Anderson on bass, legendary drummer Prairie Prince, and David Medd on Keyboards.

The powerhouse band ignited the crowd with an animated performance playing their many hits which they have compiled over the past forty years including White Punks on Dope, Talk to Ya Later, What Do You Want from Life, and their number 1 Billboard hit She’s a Beauty.

Waybill’s stage antics are well known, including his many extravagant wardrobe changes throughout the evening. True to form, Waybill and company fulfilled the audience’s expectations of an outrageous and invigorating show.WhatsUpRhodeIsland was there to capture a night of kinetic rock.
