Narragansett Beer’s ‘Buy RI’ Tour is underway

Known for their famous slogan, “Hi-Neighbor, Have a ‘Gansett,” Narragansett Beer is currently underway on their “Buy RI” Tour.

The tour is a statewide celebration of the “neighbors” who have filled Rhode Island’s most beloved bars and restaurants with stories, community, and neighborly support for generations. Narragansett’s goal over the course of 2019 will be to meet as many Rhode Islanders as possible and treat them to a well-deserved beer. The tour will stop in each of the 39 cities and towns that make up the small but mighty state to toast the local restaurant industry, small businesses, and every Rhode Islander for making their state special, diverse, and ever changing.

“Every neighborhood bar or restaurant in our home state of Rhode Island is a center of community where people can learn from, support, and share with each other, whether it’s a close loved one or your neighbor on the barstool next to you,” says Mark Hellendrung, President of Narragansett Beer in a press release. “Buy RI is really a way to express what our community means to all of us. We can’t think of a better way to thank our Rhody neighbors for what they bring to our state, and their dedicated support of Narragansett Beer, than to buy them a ‘Gansett. They’ve earned it.”

Going alphabetically by town, Narragansett will host a spirited party at a neighborhood bar or restaurant every week in every town in Rhode Island. Many of these establishments have been loyal ‘Gansett supporters since 2005 when Hellendrung and his team revived the company. Beginning Friday, February 8th through Thursday, October 31st, attendees at each event will receive a ‘Gansett branded wooden nickel to trade in for a ‘Gansett beer at the bar. The first 50 people to arrive at each event will also receive a ‘Gansett pint glass to take home.
