Providence Folk Festival to Hold Benefit Fundraiser May 31

Benefit Planned for Galactic Theatre in Warren

The Providence Folk Festival is a free event held annually the last Sunday in August and features local, regional and national musicians. This year’s Festival is moving to Rose Larissa Park in East Providence, across the street from the Crescent Park Carousel.

As a result of the move, the Festival needs additional funding to produce this year’s event. Organizers are holding a fundraiser on Friday, May 31st at the Galactic Theatre, 440 Main St. in Warren. Festival veterans John Fuzek, Allysen Callery, Lisa Couto, and Bob Kendall will be performing along with Dan Lilley, who has played at every PVD Festival. Also lending their talents to the cause, are Anthony Loffredio of Barn Burning, Ant Savino, and Mountainess (Emily Goldstein).

Admission is a $10 donation and the music starts around 8PM. You can also donate at www.ProvidenceFolkFestival.com. All proceeds benefit Providence Folk Festival/ Hear In Rhode Island, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Artists for this summer’s festival, scheduled for August 25th, will be announced soon.
