Concert Review & Photo Gallery: Blue Oyster Cult at Greenwich Odeum

Blue Oyster Cult rocked a full house at The Greenwich Odeum on Thursday. Original members Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser (lead guitar, vocals) and Eric Bloom (lead vocals, stun guitar), were backed by longtime mates Richie Castellano (keyboards, guitar), Danny Miranda (bass), and Jules Radino (drums).

Definitely a hard rock band, their musical style has often been described as crossing a broad spectrum, ranging from heavy metal, to psychedelic rock, to progressive rock. With a career spanning over fifty years, the band still maintains an energy and electricity that could set an example for some of today’s young upstarts. For a couple of guys in their seventies, Buck Dharma and Eric Bloom still have it.

The band worked their way through many BOC fan favorites with the likes of “Before The Kiss, A Redcap,” “Dancing In The Ruins,” “ME 262,” Harvest Moon,” as well as their hits “Burnin’ for You” and “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper).”

What’s Up Rhode Island was there to bring you this night of some good ole hard rock . See the slideshow below for photos.
