Free Concert of the Week: Studio 2 Beatles Tribute Friday at Mulligan’s Island (Cranston)

The “Friday Night Live” Summer Concert Series at Mulligan’s Island in Cranston continues this week with Studio 2, a Beatles tribute band that focuses on the band’s early years (pre-Sgt. Pepper). So “Please, Please Me” and “Twist and Shout” your way over to Mulligans Friday evening for this FREE show.   Details here.

Local Show of the Week: Springsteen Tribute Friday at Dusk (Providence)

“Out in the Streets” is a Springsteen Tribute show featuring some of PVD’s best including Heather Rose in Clover, The Stupid Robots, Steve Donovan and KiSSiNG KONTEST. You’ll definitely catch some cool versions of Boss tunes – and even better, all proceeds will be going to benefit the Sojourner House, a Providence organization that provides services and assistance for victims of abuse. Steppingstock Saturday at Stepping Stone Ranch (Escoheag)

A 100% rock and roll line up is coming to the venerable Stepping Stone Ranch in Escoheag. Steppingstock celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock with music of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young by Trinity; songs of Jimmy Hendrix by Blue Wild Angel; and a Who tribute with the band Who Are You. Swamp Stomp Saturday at Great Swamp (West Kingston)

The annual Swamp Stomp (SOLD OUT) is the roots-rock highlight of the summer. This year’s event features legendary artists from the Bloodshot Records label including The Mekons, Ruby Boots, The Vandoliers and Girls on Grass. Celebrate Bloodshot’s 25th anniversary in the heat of the Swamp. Details here.

George Thorogood Sunday at Indian Ranch (Webster, MA)

We previewed the George Thorogood and the Destroyers show earlier this week here. The veteran blues rocker puts on a high energy show and you’d do well to check it out Sunday afternoon at Indian Ranch. Nick Schnebelen opens and the Mighty King Snakes play the Corral Stage beginning at 12:30. Details here.

Deer Tick Monday at Ocean Mist (Matunuck)

They’re back! RI rockers Deer Tick are in town for Newport Folk Festival week and the boys from Smith Hill will be taking names starting Monday at the Ocean Mist in Matunuck. It’s the unofficial kick off to Newport Folk, so expect special guests and an energized evening of good times! Twain opens around 9PM. Details here.
