Six Picks: The best in Local Music this Week (August 9-15)

Rock and Roll reigns supreme around Rhode Island this weekend. We’re covering some fun summer festivals and a legendary star playing Bold Point Park Friday. Here are “Six Picks,” some of the best in area music this weekend.

John Fogerty Friday at Bold Point Park (East Providence)

The founder of the legendary 60’s band Creedence Clearwater Revival is playing Bold Point tonight.  John Fogerty has built a solid solo career since the Creedence days (think “Centerfield”), but is perhaps still remembered best for hits like “Fortunate Son,” “Bad Moon Rising,” and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain.” He’ll be playing those and more Friday. Tickets available here.

Even better, all proceeds benefit RI music legend Mark Cutler. Complete details here.
