Rogue Island Comedy Festival All Weekend (Newport)
RI’s only comedy festival returns this weekend to venues around Newport with shows running Thursday through Monday. The event features 16 shows with 70 comedians from SNL, Conan, and HBO among others. Highlights include Rosebud Baker from Comedy Central and Sean Patton at Jane Pickens Theater on Saturday, Oct 12th. Details here.

Edaville Railroad: Not So Spooky Halloween (Carver, MA)
It’s time for the annual Cranberry Festival at Edaville in nearby Carver, MA. Check out kid-friendly, parent-approved “Not So Spooky Halloween” fun every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in October, including Monday Columbus Day. Come dressed in your favorite costume and enjoy trick-or-treating at every ride. Costumes are strongly encouraged, but not required. Details here.
Scituate Art Festival
The Scituate Art Festival, in its 53rd year, is a favorite Rhode Island tradition over the holiday weekend. The festival features over 200 juried art and craft exhibitors, antique vendors, a food court offering regional specialties, live music and a huge art/craft/antique raffle. Details here.
Broadway Street Fair
The Broadway Street Fair is back! Last year more than 15,000 people took a stroll along Broadway, Newport’s historic Main Street and major artery into the city and celebrated the diversity that Newport is known for. The Street Fair will begin at Equality Park and extend all down into Washington Square. The day will be filled with music, food, family activities, exhibiting artists & makers and local non-profits. Jack ‘O Lantern Spectacular at Roger Williams Park (Providence)
Celebrate the wonders of New England and all its glory and magic at the nationally acclaimed Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular presented by Citizens Bank at Roger Williams Park Zoo. Feast your senses on autumn’s beauty, winter’s swirling snow, spring’s first blossoms and summer’s ocean breezes intricately carved on thousands of pumpkins displayed along the Zoo’s beautiful Wetlands Trail.
