Audrain’s Newport Concours & Motor Week (Thursday – Sunday)
Audrain’s Newport Concours & Motor Week 2019 will not simply be the East Coast’s first true motor week—it will be a celebration of all things luxury, sport and history. Featuring a world-class collection of over a billion dollars worth of vintage and modern cars, the event offers ticket holders unparalleled access to some of the rarest automobiles in existence, including 12 vehicles on loan from General Motors’ Heritage Division, from a ’38 Buick Y-Job to a ’54 Corsair Concept to a 2003 Cadillac Sixteen.
Though the cars on display are headliners in their own right, Audrain’s Newport Concours & Motor Week 2019 will see Grammy-award winning superstar John Legend take the stage of the International Tennis Hall of Fame for a private concert. Tickets and more info here.
Opening Weekend of Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular (Thursday – Nov.)
It’s opening weekend for the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo. Celebrate the wonders of New England and all its glory and magic at the nationally acclaimed Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular presented by Citizens Bank at Roger Williams Park Zoo. Feast your senses on autumn’s beauty, winter’s swirling snow, spring’s first blossoms and summer’s ocean breezes intricately carved on thousands of pumpkins displayed along the Zoo’s beautiful Wetlands Trail. Norman Bird Sanctuary’s Annual Harvest Festival (Saturday & Sunday)
Celebrate the 45th Anniversary of Norman Bird Sanctuary’s Harvest Fair in Middletown this weekend!
Fun kids’ activities include the “Mabel Express” Barrel Train, Pony Rides, Mud Pit, Midway games and the Family Entertainment Tent. Talented crafters and artisans sell their beautifully created items. Local food and beer vendors offer an array of appetizing selections, while an impressive lineup of bands and musicians round out the festive atmosphere.

The 14th Annual Flames of Hope: A Celebration Of Life WaterFire (Saturday)
Once a year, tens of thousands of people gather at WaterFire in Providence to light the way towards hope and healing for anyone touched by breast cancer. Gloria Gemma’s Flames of Hope: A Celebration of Life™ was created to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month by turning the city of Providence PINK and sparking a movement to inspire awareness, compassion, and support. This weekend-long celebration embraces everyone who has been impacted by cancer.
The Illuminations of Life Torch Ceremony will begin on the Statehouse steps at sunset and the torches will arrive in Waterplace Park Basin approximately 45 minutes later. Half of the braziers in the Waterplace Park Basin will remain unlit until approximately an hour past sunset. At this time the Illumination of Life 150-person torch procession will arrive in the basin from Station Park leading into a Ring of Fire and the remaining fires will be lit. Rhode Island Harvest BBQ (Sunday)
The RI Harvest BBQ celebrates the most special time of year in New England, the autumn harvest. With incredible food, drink & an inspired sense of community, it has become one of the best events of the year.
Join Rhode Island’s best & brightest chefs as they partner with local farmers, fishermen, brewers, vinters, musicians & artisans to break bread, hoist a glass, celebrate our special food community & raise money for a very important cause, Chefs Collaborative.

2019 Ocean Road 10K (Sunday)
The seventh annual Ocean Road 10k Presented by Polar Seltzer will be held on October 6th in Narragansett.
This scenic, flat 10k course starts at the Pt. Judith Lighthouse, runs north on Ocean Road under the famed Narragansett Towers and finishes in the northern parking lot at Town Beach. The race was recently named as one of the Top 15 10Ks in the USA by BibRave, and voted the “Best 10K” in the Northeast by Competitor Magazine. A percentage of proceeds from every entry fee will benefit the Narragansett Historical Society.
